Removing the system fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in
Before working inside your computer.
NOTE Ensure that your computer is in Service Mode. For more information see, step 6 in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the SD card.
- Remove the SIM card tray.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the system fan and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the system fan cable from the connector on the system board.
- Remove the two (M1.6x2.5) screws that secure the system fan to the palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the system fan off the palm-rest assembly.
