Removing the drive cage

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
  2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system .

  3. Remove the drives.

  4. Remove the drive backplane.

Steps

  1. Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the drive cage to the chassis.
  2. Holding the drive cage by its edges, lift the drive cage away from the system.

Next steps

Install the drive cage.
