Installing the chassis fan

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

The following images indicate the location of the chassis fan and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.

Steps

  1. Align the slots on the fan with the rubber grommets on the chassis.
    NOTE: The replacement fan may have tabs that are inserted into the grommets slots. This is to prevent the incorrect installation of the fan.

  2. Route the rubber grommets through the slots on fan and push the rubber grommets until the fan snaps into position.
  3. Connect the fan cable to the system board.
