Performance

The Performance page displays the performance and thermal information of your device. You can adjust your device hardware resources to increase performance or prioritize low energy consumption. The performance options may vary depending on the device and configuration. You can select these different performance presets:

The laptop performance presets allow you to select between these presets:

• Battery—ExpressCharge can be enabled to quickly charge when plugged into a power source and Battery Saver mode when unplugged. Both presets conserve battery power by reducing the power consumption of your GPU where possible.
  NOTE: ExpressCharge may diminish overall battery health over time.
• Quiet—The Quiet preset lowers noise that is produced by your device's cooling fans when possible, reducing CPU and GPU power consumption. This preset provides efficient performance and acoustics.
• Balanced—The balanced preset has both the CPU and GPU run at their rated power levels, thus delivering the optimal performance that your device was designed for.
• Performance—The performance preset prioritizes the graphics processor power consumption. Your device's graphics performance may be amplified while consuming more energy.
• Max or Overdrive—The GPU and CPU power levels are overclocked to provide the ultimate performance. Your device prioritizes performance but this may result in significant energy consumption, high temperatures, and fan noise.
  NOTE:This feature is only available on devices that support overclocking from the factory. For devices that do not support overclocking, the Max preset allows power levels that are considerably boosted to provide maximized performance on capable hardware. With the Max preset your device prioritizes performance and may result in higher energy consumption, temperature, and fan noise.
  Platforms for Max and Overdrive:
  • Max for non-OC supported platforms: Max Performance
  • Overdrive for OC supported platforms: Overclocked Max Performance and Max Fan Speed
• Custom—You can configure a custom preset to be applied while in device mode. To create a custom preset, select CUSTOM from the top options. Click Advanced view to create an overclock profile for each component that supports it. Adjust your custom settings and click Save. You can remove the changes by clicking Reverse.

The desktop performance presets allow you to select between these presets:

• Quiet—Efficient performance and acoustics
• Balanced—Optimized device performance
• Performance—Prioritized graphics performance
• Custom—User-defined performance
