Exporting and viewing audit files using Dell Telemetry Viewer

Dell Telemetry Viewer enables users to export and view the DCDM telemetry audit files that are transmitted back to Dell.
Ensure that you have administrator access.
  1. Download the Dell Client Device Manager – Telemetry Data Viewer from the DCDM Drivers and Download page, and move it to any desired folder on your system.
  2. Extract the contents of the .zip file.
    A folder named release-bin is displayed.
  3. Open the release-bin folder and select the Dell.TelemetryDataViewer.Admin.exe file.
  4. Run the Dell.TelemetryDataViewer.Admin.exe file to launch the application.
    The application is launched in elevated mode and all the files are extracted to the C:\Temp folder.

    The application fetches the data from the database and displays it. The numbers of tabs displayed are co-related with the number of available files.

  5. Click Export.
  6. Enter the Passphrase and Confirm Passphrase, then click Confirm.
    The default export location (Documents folder) is displayed. Change this location, if needed.
  7. Click Export to export the audit data.
    The exported data are saved in a file named AuditExport.zip in the specified folder.
  8. Extract the contents of the AuditExport.zip file.
    The extracted files are displayed as follows:
    • AuditStorage.ept (encrypted audit data)
    • Dell.TelemetryDataViewer.exe
  9. Double-click the Dell.TelemetryDataViewer.exe file to open the Telemetry Viewer application.
  10. Enter the same passphrase used during the export process and click Unlock.
    The audit data is displayed.
