Removing the WWAN card
NOTE:The 5G WWAN card is available only on certain configurations. It
is connected to the computer with four antenna cables.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the SIM-card tray, if applicable.
- Remove the base cover.

Steps
- Remove the three screws (M2x4) that secures the WWAN-card shield to the WWAN card and palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the WWAN-card shield off the WWAN card.
- Disconnect the antenna cables from the WWAN card.
- Remove the WWAN card off the WWAN-card slot on the I/O board.NOTE:If you are replacing the WWAN card, ensure that the thermal pad is in place.NOTE:If you are replacing the I/O board, ensure to peel the thermal pad from the old I/O board to the new I/O board.
