PowerProtect Data Manager 19.14 Deployment Guide

Create your license files

Activate the software and create the PowerProtect Data Manager license files.

Prerequisites

Before you create the license files, see Before you begin.

Steps

  1. Open the license authorization letter and follow the instructions under Activating Your Software.

This action takes you to the first step of the software activation wizard on the Software Licensing Central website (described in step 2).

If you do not have the license authorization letter, you can activate your software directly from Software Licensing Central. Provide information such as Licensing Authorization Code (LAC) or Sales Order #.

  2. In the Select Products step of the software activation wizard, select the products that you want to activate and click Start the Activation Process.
  3. In the Select a Machine step:
    1. If you are activating a new instance or rehosting to a new target machine, add a new machine name, and click Save Machine & Continue to Next Step.
    2. If you are increasing capacity on an existing machine, use the Search Machines widget, select the machine, and click Next: Enter Details.
  4. In the Enter Details step, enter the quantity of entitlements that you want to activate and the machine details.
  5. In the Review step, review your selections, and click Activate. This action generates the license keys.
  6. In the Complete step, view and download the .xml license key files that you generated. To return to the Software Licensing Central home page, click Home.

Next steps

Transfer the license files to the computer from which you plan to run PowerProtect Data Manager.
