Enable the Oracle RMAN agent after host IP address change
After the IP address of the Oracle RMAN agent host is changed, you must change the TNS files, start the Oracle listener, and reregister the Oracle RMAN agent.
About this task
Perform the following steps to enable the Oracle RMAN agent operations after the host IP address is changed.
Steps
- If the impacted host is the only host in a protection policy, disable the protection policy.
- Unregister the Oracle RMAN agent from the PowerProtect Data Manager server by running the dpsapps/agentsvc/unregister.sh script.
- Shut down the Oracle database, and stop the Oracle listener.
- Perform the required network configuration of the new IP address for the Oracle RMAN agent host.
- Change the TNS files, and start the Oracle listener.
- Reregister the Oracle RMAN agent with PowerProtect Data Manager by running the register.sh script from the agent service directory dpsapps/agentsvc.
- Enable the protection policy, and run the protection job.
