You can use
to perform disaster recovery for cloud-protected virtual machines.
Prerequisites
Click
CDR.
The details pane shows a list of the cloud copies. In Azure environment, use a DHCP IP address instead of a static IP address for the Ubuntu virtual machines, as virtual machines with static IPs are not accessible after failover.
Steps
Log in to
, and select
Restore > Assets.
The
Restore page is displayed. The
Restore page displays all the assets with copies.
In the
Virtual Machines tab, select the check box next to the virtual machine that you want to restore (that is, recover), and click
View Copies.
If the selected virtual machine has copies in the cloud,
CDR is displayed.
Click
CDR.
The details pane shows a list of the cloud copies.
Select the check box next to the VM copy that you want to recover, and click
Test or
Failover. The
Test or
Failover dialog box is displayed.
NOTE:If no DR test is done earlier, the following warning is displayed :
Please be aware that no DR Test took place prior to this Failover operation. We also recommend you to shutdown your production VM, in order to avoid a possible data loss, caused by accidental user access.
Select the applicable virtual network in the
Network section on the cloud account, and click
Next.
In the
Security Groups section, select a security group to attach to the recovered instance, and click
Next.
The
Summary page is displayed.
Click
Start Test or
Start Failover.
Results
The test or failover process begins. You can monitor the progress on the
Jobs window. You can also follow the recovery process that is described in the
Cloud Disaster Recovery Installation and Administration Guide.
NOTE:More Cloud DR orchestration capabilities are available in the Cloud DR Server UI. Examples of these operations include enabling rapid recovery, creating DR plans, and failing over to a vCenter server. See the
