Restore to original or alternate location on the same RHEL or SLES host
Restoring to the original or alternate location within the same host is supported only after changing the UUID, especially when a different volume with the same UUID is mounted. This is required in order to avoid a UUID collision where multiple devices are mounted with same UUID. Perform the following command-line steps when restoring to an alternate or original location within the same RHEL or SLES host.
Prerequisites
CAUTION:Restore to an alternate location on the same host has many dependencies, including the host type, operating system, LVM, file system, and specific circumstances such as if any database uses the volumes as raw. Before performing this type of restore, review your operating system and application documentation for dependencies and other requirements.
Steps

Run the
blkid command to check the UUID.
The output displays the same UUID for multiple devices. For example:
/dev/sde: UUID="51c0f7c2-56c3-4684-a8e0-6ba6274aa964" BLOCK_SIZE="512" TYPE="xfs" /dev/sdd: UUID="51c0f7c2-56c3-4684-a8e0-6ba6274aa964" BLOCK_SIZE="512" TYPE="xfs"
To perform the restore, the UUID must be changed. - To change the UUID of the restored volume, generate a unique UUID for this volume by running the uuidgen command.

Run the following command with the new UUID of the restored volume:
xfs_admin -U new_UUID /dev/device_nameNOTE:The following error message appears when attempting to mount different LUNs with the same UUID: ldpde071:~ # mount /ldpde071XX mount: /ldpde071XX: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdX, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.
