Set the asset stream count

Setting the asset parallelism allows you to control the maximum number of Block Volume protection engines used during the backup session of this asset. If asset parallelism is not set, all available protection engines might be consumed by the backup, depending on the number of volumes in the storage group.

About this task

Perform the following steps to set the stream count before a backup. You can also set the stream count during a restore within the Restore wizard.

Steps

  1. Go to Infrastructure > Assets and select the PowerMax Block tab.
  2. Select an asset, and then select More Actions > Set Stream Count.
  3. Make a selection from the Maximum Streams dropdown list, and then click Save.
