Kubernetes API certificate goes into UNKNOWN status unexpectedly

The status of the Kubernetes OpenShift API server certificate can unexpectedly change to UNKNOWN, resulting in protection job failures.

When this issue occurs, manually change the certificate to ACCEPTED, and then retry the protection job:

  1. In the PowerProtect Data Manager UI left navigation, go to Administration > Certificates.
  2. Click the External Servers tab.
  3. Select the Kubernetes certificate, and then click Renew.
