ip ftp password

Specify a password for outgoing FTP connections.

Syntax
ip ftp password [encryption-type] password

To remove a password and return to the default setting, use the no ip ftp password [password] command.

Parameters
encryption-type
(OPTIONAL) Enter one of the following numbers:
  • 0 (zero) for an unecrypted (clear text) password
  • 7 (seven) for a hidden text password
password
Enter a string up to 40 characters as the password.

Usage Information
The password is listed in the configuration file; you can view the password by entering the show running-config ftp command.

Use the ip ftp password command when you use the ftp: parameter in the copy command.
