Dell iDRAC Service Module 5.3.0.0 User’s Guide

Install iDRAC Service Module on Linux operating systems

For supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server operating systems, iDRAC Service Module (iSM) is packaged in a single Red Hat Package Manager (rpm). This package with the shell script can install, uninstall, enable, or disable the available features.

Before installing iSM, install the OSC package collector by using the following command:
rpm -ivh dcism-osc*.rpm

As the installer on Linux is a single rpm install, there is no granular install support. You can enable or disable the features only through the scripted installs.

Before installing iSM on supported Ubuntu operating system, install the OSC package collector by using the following command:
dpkg -i dcism-osc*.deb

To install iSM on Ubuntu operating system, run the command dpkg -i dcism*.deb.

NOTE:The installer is available for all iSM supported 64-bit versions of Linux operating systems.
