Invoke-SupportAssistCollection

Invoke-SupportAssistCollection is a CLI-based tool that is used for Dell SupportAssist Collection (SAC) from the host operating system. The tool is designed for operating system administrators and the Dell Technologies technical support team who are not aware of iDRAC credentials to log in and initiate the SAC, or when administrators do not have access to iDRAC. Invoke-SupportAssistCollection facilitates the SAC without logging in to the iDRAC.

The Invoke-SupportAssistCollection tool collects filtered SAC which contains system information, storage information, and OSC collection details. To run the tool, ensure that you fulfill the following requirements:

  • Log in to the operating system with administrator privileges.
  • iDRAC Service Module (iSM) is running and communicating with iDRAC during tool invocation and execution.

Default invocation of the Invoke-SupportAssistCollection tool collects the SAC, and saves the collection into a default download path that is predefined by the operating system. The tool also supports the custom option using which you can pass the operating system directory path where SAC is saved. You can perform only a single SupportAssist Collection at a time.
