Data sanitation

Sensitive data that is kept beyond its useful life or disposed of improperly can lead to data leaks. Data sanitization is the process of removing information from media such that information recovery is not possible.

iSM uninstall erases all iSM-specific configuration data and intermediate files. Explicit SupportAssist collections that are saved in a different path are not cleaned up. On Linux operating systems and Debian-based operating systems, uninstalling iSM retains configuration files as per RedHat Package Manager (RPM) and Debian Package (dpkg) specifications respectively.
