- Message
- A multi-bit Error Correction Code (ECC) error is detected on the arg1. Part number: arg2.
- Arguments
- arg1 = controllerName
- arg2 = Part_Number
- Detailed Description
- An error involving multiple bits is detected during the Read or Write operation. The error correction algorithm recalculates parity data during read/write operations. If the issue involves a single bit, the algorithm will correct and maintain parity data. In case of multiple bits, the data may be lost. However, in some multi-bit error cases, if issue occurs during Read operation, the data on the drive may be retained. However the data is lost during a Write operation.
- Recommended Response Action
- Replace the controller. For information about replacing the controller, see the respective PERC Users Guide available on the support site.
