Removing the base cover
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the base cover and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Loosen the three captive screws on the base cover.
- Remove the four screws (M2x6) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Pry the base cover starting from the top-left corner of the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the base cover off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
