Removing the palm-rest and keyboard assembly
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the wireless card.
- Remove the coin-cell battery.
- Remove the side speakers.
- Remove the front speakers (4-cell battery) or front speakers (6-cell battery), whichever applicable.
- Remove the 4-cell battery (64 Wh) or the 6-cell battery (87 Wh), whichever applicable.
- Remove the fan.
- Remove the IO board.
- Remove the power-button board.
- Remove the power button.
- Remove the display assembly.
- Remove the display board.
- Remove the system board.NOTE: The system board can be removed with the following components attached:
- heat sink
- memory
- solid-state drive

NOTE: The palm-rest and keyboard assembly comes pre-assembled with the following components, when one of these components need to replaced, replace the entire assembly.
