Removing heat sink assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your tablet.
  2. Remove the:
    1. Micro-SIM and/or microSD card

      NOTE: : Micro-SIM card slot is available only on tablets shipping with WWAN module.

    2. Display panel
    3. battery
  3. To remove the heat sink assembly:
    1. Peel the conductive tapes that secure the shielding cover.

      NOTE: : The shielding covers on the system board and conductive tape attached on the shielding covers need to be removed in order to replace either the system board or heatsink.

      NOTE: : Ensure to peel off the tape carefully, as any damage to the tape will need to raise a new order for conductive tapes. The tape secures the IR camera cable from any damage. Ensure to fix the tapes while installing or replacing the component.

      NOTE: : Ensure to peel off the conductive tape, if the system heatsink is shipped with conductive tape.

    2. Lift the shielding covers that secure the heat sink assembly .

      NOTE: : Peel the black tape / copper tape that secure the IR camera cable for model shipped with IR camera (optional).

  4. To remove the heat sink assembly:
    1. Loosen the M2 x 2.5 captive screws (4) that secure the heat sink assembly to the tablet [1].

      NOTE: : Remove the screws in the order of the callout numbers [1, 2, 3, 4] as graphically printed on the heat sink.

    2. Lift the heat sink assembly from the tablet [2].
