Removing the fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Disconnect the battery cable from its connector on the system board.

Steps
- Disconnect the fan cable from the connector on the system board.
- Remove the two screws (M2.5x4) that secure the fan to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the fan off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
