Removing the fan

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the SIM card.
  3. Remove the base cover.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
  2. Remove the fan cable from the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly.
  3. Remove the two screws (M2x4) that secure the fan to the palm-rest assembly.
  4. Lift the fan off the palm-rest assembly.
