Removing the Palmrest

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. SSD card

    4. keyboard trim

    5. keyboard

  3. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest and flip the computer. Figure displaying removing the screws that secure palmrest to the computer.
  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Flip the computer.
    2. Disconnect the touch cables from their connectors on the system board [1] [2].
    3. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer [3].

  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Pry the edges of the palmrest [1].
    2. Remove the palmrest from the computer [2].
