Removing the Keyboard

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. keyboard trim

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Peel the adhesive tape to access the keyboard cable [1].
    2. Disconnect the keyboard cables from their connectors on the system board [2] [3].

  4. Flip the computer and remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the computer. Figure displaying removing the screws that secure keyboard to the computer.
  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Pry the keyboard to release it from the computer [1].
    2. Remove the keyboard from the computer [2].
