Removing the Display-Hinge Cover

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. keyboard trim

    4. keyboard

    5. palmrest

  3. Remove the screws that secure the display-hinge covers to the computer. Figure displaying removing the screw that secures hinge cap.
  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure display-hinge covers to the computer [1].
    2. Remove the display-hinge covers from the computer [2].
