Upgrade and conversion scenarios

Open Server Manager may be upgraded or converted in the following scenarios:

  • Open Server Manager may be upgraded to subsequent, supported releases of Open Server Manager for the specific platform. Open Server Manager firmware updates may be performed in either the UI or using Redfish.
  • Open Server Manager may be converted to iDRAC by installing a version of iDRAC that supports Open Server Manager. iDRAC may be installed in either the UI or using Redfish.
    NOTE: When using Redfish and the host is powered ON:
    • If ApplyTime is set to Immediate, Open Server Managers powers OFF the system before continuing the update.
    • If ApplyTime is set to OnReset, the server must be powered OFF before the update can continue.
