Prerequisites for firmware update
- For vSAN host and cluster, see the prerequisites that are mentioned in the Update firmware of vSAN host and Update firmware of vSAN cluster.
- For vSphere host and cluster, see the prerequisites that are mentioned in the Update firmware of vSphere host associated cluster and Update firmware of vSphere cluster.
- Ensure that the hosts are managed by OpenManage Enterprise Integration for VMware vCenter (OMEVV). For more information about how to manage hosts, see Manage Hosts.
- In a multiappliance environment, to perform firmware update on cluster or host, ensure to select the required OMEVV instance registered with vCenter on the OMEVV home page.
