Configuring the database instance

The SQL Server service will not start if you are using the default NETWORK SERVICE or LOCAL SYSTEM accounts. Therefore, you must configure the SQLEXPRESSOME database instance to run using a domain service account.

To configure the SQLEXPRESSOME database instance:
  1. Open Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager.
  2. On the left pane, click SQL Server Services .
  3. On the right-pane, right-click SQL Server (SQLEXPRESSOME) and click Properties. The SQL Server (SQLEXPRESSOME) Properties window is displayed.
  4. In the Log on tab, select This account.
  5. Type the domain service account name, password, and confirm the password in the appropriate fields.
  6. Click Restart.
  7. Click Apply
