Removing the Processor

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. hard drive
    2. cover
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Press the release lever down [1].
    2. Move the lever outward to release it from the retention hook that secures it [2].
    3. Lift the processor cover and remove the processor from its socket [3].
