Removing heatsink assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. Side cover
    2. Front bezel
  3. Open the front panel door.
  4. To remove the heatsink assembly:
    1. Disconnect the heatsink fan assembly cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Loosen the captive screws (4) that secure the heatsink assembly to the system board [2].
      NOTE Remove the screw in the sequential order (1,2,3,4) as printed on the system board.
    3. Lift the heatsink assembly away from the computer [3].
