Removing heat sink assembly

Steps

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover
    2. bezel
  3. Open the front panel door.
  4. To remove the heat sink assembly:
    1. Disconnect the heat sink assembly cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat sink assembly to the system board [2].
    3. Lift the heat sink assembly away from the computer [3].
