Update the driver that runs on the Microsoft Windows operating system
Prerequisites
NOTE:Close all applications on your system before you update the driver.
Steps
- Insert the media containing the driver.

The System Properties screen is displayed.NOTE:The path to System may vary based on the operating system family.
- Click the Hardware tab.

Click
Device Manager.
The Device Manager screen is displayed.NOTE:The path to Device Manager may vary based on the operating system family.
- Expand Storage Controllers by double-clicking the entry or by clicking the plus (+) symbol next to Storage Controllers.
- Double-click the controller for which you want to update the driver.

Click the
Driver tab and click
Update Driver.
The screen to update the device driver wizard is displayed.
- Select Install from a list or specific location.
- Click Next.
- Follow the steps in the wizard and browse to the location of the driver files.
- Select the INF file from the drive media.
- Click Next and continue the installation steps in the wizard.

Click Finish to exit the wizard and reboot the system
for the changes to become effective.
NOTE:Dell provides the Dell Update Package (DUP) to update drivers on systems running RHEL 8 or RHEL 9. DUP is an executable application that updates drivers for specific devices. DUP supports CLI and silent execution.
