Removing the optional serial COM port

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
  2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the serial COM port cable from the connector on the system board.
    NOTE:Observe the routing of the cable as you remove it from the system.
  2. Open the card holder and lift the serial COM port out of the system.

  3. Install the filler bracket if not replacing the serial COM port.
