Installing the GPU fan board

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
  2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
  3. Remove the rear support bracket.
  4. Remove the air shroud
  5. Remove the cooling fans
  6. Remove the cooling fan assembly
  7. Disconnect the backplane cables.
  8. Disconnect the GPU fan cables that are connected to the GPU fan board.

Steps

  1. Using both hands, lower the GPU fan board by holding the blue standoff screws and align it with the guide slots on the system.
  2. Slide it to rear of the system. Using a Phillips 2 screwdriver, tighten the thumbscrews of the GPU fan board to lock it on the GPU fan cage.
