Installing the LOM card and rear I/O board
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- Remove the rear support bracket.
- Remove the air shroud.
- Removing the PSU.
- Observe and disconnect the cables from the connectors on the power distribution board.
- Removing the PSU cage.
- Remvoing the BOSS-N1 cage
- WARNING:The system board and the Direct liquid cooling (DLC) module and processor can be removed from the chassis and keep the liquid cooling pipe together.
- Using the system board holder and plunger, slide the system board toward the front of the system. At a tilted angle, lift the system board out of the chassis.
Steps
- Align the connectors and slots on the LOM card or rear I/O board with the connector and standoffs on the system board.
- Press the LOM card or rear I/O board until firmly seated on the system board connector.
- Using a Phillips 2 screwdriver, secure the LOM card or rear I/O board to the system board with screws.

Next steps
- WARNING:The system board can be removed along with the Direct liquid cooling (DLC) module and processor from the chassis and keep the liquid cooling pipe together.
- Hold the blue plastic handle and sheet metal handle on the system board and place it onto the chassis. Align the guiding features with their corresponding marks on the chassis. Hold onto the blue plastic handle with one hand and use the other hand to push the plunger, sliding the system board towards the rear of the chassis until it clicks and locks the plunger..
- Install the BOSS-N1 cage.
- Install the PSU cage.
- Reconnect the cables to the connectors on the power distribution board.
- Install the PSU.
- Install the air shroud.
- Install the rear support bracket.
- Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system.
