Removing the PCIe Base Board
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- Remove the rear support bracket.
- Remove the air shroud
- Remove the cooling fans
- Remove the cooling fan assembly
- Disconnect the backplane cables.
- Disconnect the GPU fan cables that are connected to the GPU fan board.
- Remove the GPU fan board
- Remove the GPU fans
- Remove the GPU fan cage
- Removing the side brackets
- Sliding out the drive cage
- Removing the expansion card, if installed
Steps
- Release the plunger on the PSBB board side brackets, slide them toward the
front of the system.

- Using a Phillips 2 screwdriver, loosen the thumbscrew on the PCIe base board.
- Hold the board by thumbscrew at one side and the holder at another side of the
board, tilt it, and then lift it fully towards the front of the chassis.
