Removing the VSB assembly and VSB

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
  2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.
  3. Remove the rear support bracket.
  4. Remove the air shroud.
  5. Remove the PSU.
  6. Observe and disconnect the cables from the connectors on the power distribution board.
  7. Disconnect all the cables routed through the VSBs. This image shows the cables connected on the top layer.
  8. Removing the PSU cage

Steps

  1. Lift the plunger and slide the VSB tray to the rear of the system.
  2. Disengage the VSB tray from the system board and lift it out of the system.
    NOTE:The procedure to remove the left and right VSB is similar.
