Right Control Panel (RCP)

The right control panel encompasses many of the features no longer supported by the left control panel.

Table 1. Right control panelItem 1 is the power button, indicates if the system is turned on or off. Item 2 is the USB port, enables you to connect USB devices to the system. Item 3 is the iDRAC Direct LED, indicates that the iDRAC Direct port is connected. Item 4 is the iDRAC Direct port, enables you to access the iDRAC direct features.
Item Indicator or button Icon Description
1 VGA port video connector iconEnables you to connect a display device to the system. For more information, see the PowerEdge Manuals.
2 iDRAC Direct port (Micro-AB USB) iDRAC Direct iconThe iDRAC Direct port (Micro-AB USB) enables you to access the iDRAC Direct Micro-AB features. For more information, see the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller User's Guide
NOTE:You can configure iDRAC Direct by using a USB to micro USB (type AB) cable, which you can connect to your laptop or tablet. Cable length should not exceed 3 ft (0.91 meters). Performance could be affected by cable quality.
3 USB 2.0-compliant port USB connector icon The USB port is a 4-pin connector and 2.0-compliant. This port enables you to connect USB devices to the system.
4 Power button Power-on indicator iconIndicates if the system is powered on or off. Press the power button to manually power on or off the system.
NOTE:Press the power button to gracefully shut down the ACPI-compliant operating system.
NOTE:To ensure accurate inlet temperature readings, remove the mylar film from the holes under the USB port (item 3) and avoid blocking these holes with labels or other materials.
