Removing the PCIe expansion cards

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
  2. Remove the HPM sled.
  3. Remove the storage module cover.
  4. Slide out the storage module.
  5. Remove the PCIe air shroud
  6. NOTE:Disconnect the OCP NIC cable, iDRAC RJ45 network cables, drive backplane cables,

Steps

  1. Pull the PCIe expansion card to disengage it from the PSRBB or PSBB (PCIe Switch Retimer Base Board/ PCIe Switch Base board).
  2. Lift the PCIe expansion card out of the system.

  3. If the PCIe expansion card is not going to be installed or replaced, install the filler.
