Scale Limitations
The scale limitations for RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines, with vSCSI ESXi splitters are listed below.
The system does not enforce most of the limitations, which means that a system with higher scale can be deployed. However, exceeding these limits may result in unpredictable system behavior, and is unsupported. These limits, along with the currently deployed scale, are available in the System Limits tab of the vSphere plug-in.

1 When protecting more than 128 VMs in a RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines system, ensure that each vRPA cluster has at least two vRPAs, and that all vRPAs in the system have at least 16 GB RAM. In addition, when protecting more than 256 VMs, ensure that all vRPAs in the system have at least 4 vCPUs.
2 For redundancy, a vRPA cluster must contain at least 3 vRPAs when protecting more than 256 consistency groups.
3 Maximum journal size is three times the initial journal size, subject to the following exceptions:
- If three times the initial journal size is less than 1.09 TB, then use 1.09 TB as the max journal size.
- If three times the initial journal size is greater than 10.00 TB, then use 10.00 TB as the max journal size.
