Add Entrust root certificate to the VMware vCenter certificate store

If you want to use third-party certificates in your environment, you must add a third-party trusted root certificate to the VMware vCenter certificate store.

Steps

  1. Manually download the OVCS2 certificate (OVCS2-CSBR1-crosscert) from the Entrust website: Entrust Certificate Services Subordinate CAs.
Search for the keyword OVCS2. Click CRT to download the certificate.
  2. Upload the Entrust root certificate to the VMware vCenter certificate store:
    1. Log in to the vCenter Server.
    2. Click Administration > Certificates > Certificate Management.
    3. Next to Trusted Root Store, click Add.
    4. Browse and select the downloaded Entrust root certificate. The certificate is added in a panel under Trusted Root Certificates.
  3. Once the certificates are installed, OVA can be verified and deployed.
