Configure the PowerFlex management platform installer networking interface

Use this procedure to configure the networking for the PowerFlex management platform installer VM.

About this task

The following network adapter needs to be configured on the Powerflex management platform installer:

VLAN 105: flex-node-mgmt (eth0) or VLAN 130: pfmc-mgmt (eth0)

For a multi-VLAN or multi-subnet configuration, the PowerFlex management controller management is configured instead of the VMware ESXi management. For a standard deployment without multi-networking the network adapter can be configured on either VMware ESXi management (VLAN 105) or PowerFlex management controller management (VLAN 130).

Steps

  1. Launch the web console from vCSA and log in as delladmin.
  2. To configure the <flex-node-mgmt> interface, type sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0
    DEVICE=eth0
    NAME=eth0
    STARTMODE=auto
    BOOTPROTO=static
    IPADDR=<ip address>
    NETMASK=<mask>

    Example:
    DEVICE=eth0
    NAME=eth0
    STARTMODE=auto
    BOOTPROTO=static
    IPADDR=10.10.105.10
    NETMASK=255.255.255.0

    1. To configure the default route, type sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/network/routes. default <gateway ip> - <interface>
      Example: default 10.10.105.1 - eth0
    2. To configure DNS search and DNS servers, type sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/network/config and modify the following: NETCONFIG_DNS_STATIC_SEARCHLIST="<search domain>" NETCONFIG_DNS_STATIC_SERVERS="< dns_ip1 dns_ip2>"
      Example: NETCONFIG_DNS_STATIC_SEARCHLIST="example.com" NETCONFIG_DNS_STATIC_SERVERS="10.10.105.240 10.10.105.241"
