Multiprotocol renaming policies

You can select a renaming policy for a multiprotocol file migration. This policy controls the circumstances under which NFS and CIFS clients can rename a directory.

You can select one of three policy naming policies when migrating VNX systems to Unity:

VNX Unity
NO allowedAll

All NFS and SMB clients can rename directories without any restrictions.

CIFS (default) forbiddenSmb (default)

Only NFS clients can rename directories without any restrictions. If at least one file is opened in the directory or in one of its subdirectories, an SMB client cannot rename a directory.

FULL forbiddenAll

If at least one file is opened in the directory or in one of its subdirectories, NFS and SMB clients cannot rename a directory.
