Multiprotocol VDM import cancel
You can cancel an ongoing migration session anytime except during the cutting-over and committing phases.
Depending on which state the migration session is in, canceling the migration session produces different results:
- Before the import session starts, a migration cancel deletes the import session.
- If the import session has begun but cutover has not finished, a migration cancel performs the following actions:
- Stops data copying
- Cleans up the copied data and imported configuration data
- Cleans up the migrating NAS Server and file systems except the user-created file systems
- After cutover, and before the import session enters the Ready to Commit state, a migration cancel performs the following actions:
- Stops data copy and data sync
- Rolls back to the source VDM
- Cleans up the copied data and migrated configuration data
- Cleans up the migrating NAS server and file systems, except for the user-created file systems
If the migration has been started and canceled, the migration session is not removed to allow the system to keep historical data. This data is kept until the remote storage system is deleted. After the migration cancel is completed, the following occurs:
- The NAS server and file systems at the target system are deleted.
- The destination client network interfaces are removed.
- The source VDM is restarted to take all configuration updates into account.
NOTE: If any source or destination production interfaces are missing before the migration is canceled, the cancel operation still succeeds without reporting errors.
