Configure VxRail clusters

You can view and configure VxRail cluster parameters in the VMware vSphere Web Client from the Inventory icon by clicking the Configure tab.

The following cluster-level VxRail parameters are included:

  • Dashboard: Displays system health and support resources at a glance, including system health, support, community activity, and KB content.
  • System: Displays the current version of VxRail Manager and allows VxRail update.
  • Compliance: Displays compliance status and Installed components and versions.
  • Backup: Performs VxRail integrated backup and displays back status history.
  • Hosts: Views or modifies the hosts within the VxRail cluster, also add hosts to the VxRail cluster.
  • Managed Folders: Folders that are managed by a VxRail cluster which contain nonclustered VxRail satellite nodes.
  • Updates: Performs cluster-level VxRail upgrades.
  • Security: Security-related configuration. You can update the VxRail certificates and credentials.
  • Settings: Displays the proxy status, configure proxy settings for Internet connections, and configure traffic throttling. Disables system health monitoring for maintenance purposes.
  • Support: Displays the linked Support account and a link to change to a new account. Allows you to edit the service connectivity configuration. You can view recently collected logs and generates a customized log bundle using types and nodes.
  • Market: Accesses qualified applications to install and run on your VxRail cluster.

Service connectivity

Service connectivity provides secure, automated access between Dell Technologies Support and your VxRail. Enable the service connectivity in direct connection mode or through an external secure connection gateway to enable some features in VxRail Manager.

You can enable service connectivity for VxRail using the VMware vSphere Web Client. Service connectivity is required for use with APEX AIOps Infrastructure Observability.

With service connectivity, you can provide usage data to the Dell Technologies customer experience improvement program. You determine the level of data about your VxRail environment that is collected. The types of data that are collected include environmental usage, performance, capacity, and configuration information. Dell Technologies uses this information to improve your experience with VxRail.
