Convert a VxRail-managed VMware vCenter Server to a customer-managed VMware vCenter Server

This is a one-way conversion from VxRail-managed VMware vCenter Server to a customer-managed VMware vCenter Server.

About this task

You cannot convert a customer-managed VMware vCenter Server to a VxRail-managed VMware vCenter Server. After you convert to a customer-managed VMware vCenter Server, the server and PSC life cycle are not managed by VxRail Manager.

Steps

  1. From the VMware vSphere Web Client, select the Inventory icon.
  2. Select the VxRail cluster and click the Configure tab.
  3. Select VxRail > System.
  4. Click ACTIONS in the VxRail cluster section.
  5. Click Convert to external vCenter.
  6. Enter the appropriate information and save.
