View physical node status

View compute, boot device, and NIC status and information for any node in a cluster.

Steps

  1. On the VMware vSphere Client, click Hosts and Clusters and select your VxRail cluster from the left navigation bar.
  2. Select the Monitor tab.
  3. Select VxRail > Physical View from the inner left navigation bar.
  4. Click the picture of the host you want to view and then click the View Host Details link (hostname) on the right side of the window.
  5. Observe the node information in the right window.
    Click Boot Device to view information about the node boot devices.
    Click Alerts to view any active alerts for that node.

Results

The node information lists status and information such as:
  • Hostname
  • Status LED on/off
  • Power status
  • Serial number
  • Health status
  • Manufacturer
  • Slot number
  • Firmware versions
  • Component versions
  • Boot device serial number and statistics
