VxRail hardware

The VxRail cluster configuration consists of a minimum of three nodes up to a maximum of 64 nodes. VMware two-node models hold one to two nodes in a rackmount chassis. VxRail requires one or more network switches ( 25 GbE, 10 GbE, or 1 GbE depending on model), appropriate cables, and a laptop for the UI.

VxRail Manager

VxRail Manager provides a software stack for SDDC building blocks including compute, network, storage, and management. VxRail Manager streamlines deployment, configuration, and management for easier initial setup and ongoing operations.

With VxRail Manager you can:

• View VxRail software versions and updates and perform software upgrades.
• Monitor system health with deep hardware intelligence.
• Integrate services.
• Access qualified software products.
• Add and remove nodes in the cluster.
• Replace hardware, add drives, and cycling power to the cluster or nodes.
• Access Online Support, e-Services. and community resources such as the user forum and Knowledge Base.

VxRail SaaS multicluster management

VxRail SaaS multicluster management provides the following features:

• Centralized data collection and analytics that streamline monitoring of your VxRail clusters.
• Improved serviceability
• Better decision making to manage the performance and capacity of your engineered HCI.

You can access SaaS multicluster management from the APEX AIOps Infrastructure Observability portal from VxRail Manager.
