What's new in ThinOS 2205

  • Citrix Workspace app updates
    • From ThinOS 2205 and Citrix Workspace App 2203, Citrix Workspace app displays all available local audio devices in a session with their names. For more information, see Multiple audio redirection.
    • From ThinOS 2205 and Citrix Workspace app 2203, a user is allowed to disable smart card plug-and-play functionality.
  • VMware Horizon updates
    • From the current release, VMware Horizon logs in automatically if the Kiosk Mode account Client Mac is configured as the ThinOS default user. See, VMware Horizon Kiosk Mode.
    • In virtual desktop sessions, the Real-Time Audio-Video feature displays the actual names of redirected devices with (VDI) appended. See, VMware Real Time Audio-Video.
    • Client users can use touch screen gestures in remote desktop and application sessions.
  • Teradici updates
  • Imprivata update—Proximity card readers IMP-82-BLE and IMP-82 are supported in ThinOS 2205. For limitations and known issues, see the Release Notes of your ThinOS version at www.dell.com/support.
  • Unified Communications updates
    • Cisco Webex Meetings VDI package is updated to version 42.2.6.11.3.
    • Cisco Webex Teams VDI is updated to version 41.12.0.20899.3.
    • Zoom package is updated to version 5.9.6.20931.7.
    • Cisco JVDI package is updated to version 14.1.0.306686.4.
  • ThinOS local updates
    • Added ThinOS Activation devices license in Wyse Management Suite.
    • Latitude 3420 is supported from ThinOS 2205.
    • MJPEG format is supported in the camera.
    • Added wireless IP address info on Wi-Fi icon tooltips.
    • On the import your ThinOS configuration page, WMS Prefix and Group key values are hidden. Click the eye icon to display or hide values.
    • Updated the peripherals list description in Devices tab.
    • Added support for ELO ET2202L-2UWA-0-BL-G touch monitor.
    • Added two new items to WMS server drop-down list on THINOS client menu Central Configuration. The new items are us1.wysemanagementsuite.com and eu1.wysemanagementsuite.com.
    • SMB Printer behavior update—When you log in to a Broker agent, the SMB credentials are taken from the Broker agent login credentials, and these credentials are used for printing.
      NOTE:The Broker agent sign-in credentials are expected to have priority over Wyse Management Suite credentials.
  • Wyse Management Suite and Admin Policy Tool updates
    • Enable PcoIP Activation License—Added Enable PCoIP Activation License option in Services > WDA Settings. See, Enable PCoIP Activation License.
    • Enable On screen option in RDP settings.Login to RDP session using Remote Desktop Gateway from Wyse Management Suite or Admin Policy Tool.
    • Manual Override Camera Device—Added Manual Override Camera Device in Advanced > Peripheral Management > Camera > Camera Settings. If this option is enabled, the camera that is selected by user in the local UI on ThinOS, takes priority. It prevents Camera Settings from the WMS Server to overwrite the locally configured camera device until the option is disabled. The setting change only affects the Camera device option.
    • Default Camera option—Added the option to set default camera in Advanced > Peripheral Management > Camera > Camera Settings. You can use full camera label, VID:PID, substring, or any valid regex. The setting tries to match the best available camera based on the substring. The option disables the user camera selection on local user interface if a default camera is found. Manual override is disabled.
    • Added MJPEG in the Camera Format list.
    • Float bar activation delay—Changed the input value scope of Delay Floatbar Activation in Milliseconds in Advanced > Personalization > User Experience Settings to 70 - 60000.
    • Turn Off DisplayTurn Off Display option is added in Advanced > Personalization > Screen Saver to turn off the display after a few minutes when the screensaver starts.
    • GUI change in VNC service to match the actual behavior—Go to Advanced > Services > VNC Service, turn on the option Enable VNC Daemon and then turn on the option Enable VNC Prompt. For the option Select Timeout Type, change the default value from Accept to Reject and for the option Timeout, change the default value from 0 to 10. This is only a GUI change and there is no change in the functionality.
    • DHCP option 252 enable—Added DHCP option 252 enable in Network Configuration > DHCP Settings. Enable or disable this option to enable or disable the proxy settings from DHCP option 252.
    • BIOS settings page for Latitude 3420—Added BIOS settings page to control the BIOS options for Latitude 3420.
      NOTE:If you publish BIOS settings policy from Wyse Management Suite on Latitude 3420, the policy does not sync to Admin Policy Tool. It takes effect in BIOS Setup directly.
    • Login Expire Time—Change the value range of Login Expire Time in Broker Settings > Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Settings. The new range is from 0 to 18446744073709551615 where 0 means follow server timeout policy.
      NOTE:This policy only works when you log in to Citrix storefront server or Citrix NetScaler server with LDAP authentication.
    • Disable Default Password on Login Console—Added the option Disable Default Password on Login Console in Login Experience > Login Settings to disable the default password field in the login window.
      NOTE:MFA token and Smartcard PIN are not impacted with this option.
    • The Username field in Peripheral Management > Printers > SMB Printer supports special characters such as $UN.
    • The accepted length of Amazon WorkSpaces registration code is updated from 255 to 1023 characters in Wyse Management Suite, Local Admin Policy Tool, and ThinOS local user interface.
    • Enable logging level—Removed 4, 5 from Login Experience > 3rd Party Authentication > 3rd Party Authentication Settings > Enable logging level drop-down list.
    • Hide On Startup—Added Hide On Startup in Peripheral Management > Mouse. If you enable this option, mouse pointer will be hidden until you move the mouse, after you reboot the client.
