Installing the M.2 2230 solid-state drive (SSD)

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

Steps

  1. Align the notch on the M.2 2230 SSD with the tab on the SSD slot, then gently slide the SSD into the slot.
    CAUTION:When installing the SSD, be careful not to damage or dislodge the thermal pad on the system board.
  2. Angle the M..2 2230 SSD bracket into the SSD slot.
  3. Place the M.2 SSD thermal shield onto the M.2230 SSD and bracket as shown, ensuring the screw holes are aligned with the system board.
  4. Replace the two screws (M2x3) that secure the M.2 SSD thermal shield to the system board.
